Adding a Badge to a Wix Website

Modified on Sat, 10 Jun, 2023 at 8:42 AM

If you have a Wix website, our automated checker (crawler) will not be able to find your badge if you add it using our badge code. This is due to the way that Wix adds our badge code - within an 'iframe', which our crawler and even Google crawlers cannot find.

Simply do either of the following solutions shown below and you'll get +10% added to your profile quality score, ranking your Profile higher in our search pages for better results! :-)

Solution 1 - Add a link on your website to your Profile:

1. Highlight and 'copy' your Profile URL (as shown on your account dashboard - see screenshot below):

 2. Add a line of copy to the page on your website along with the link to your Profile:

Example 1:

View my Entertainers Worldwide Female Singer Profile https://www.entertainersworldwide.com/emily-reed-profile-60095

Or you could add the link to your act type text (in this example we're using 'Female Singer') like this:

Example 2:

View my Entertainers Worldwide Female Singer Profile.

(When the user clicks 'Female Singer' (or whatever your act type is), it will take them to your Profile)

Example 3:

View my Reviews on my Entertainers Worldwide Profile https://www.entertainersworldwide.com/emily-reed-profile-60095

IMPORTANT NOTE: After you've added the link to your website, you must submit your website page URL here to gain the 10% Profile Quality Score increase!

Solution 2 - Add a badge 'image' (no code) to your page and attach your profile link to it:

1. Right-click your preferred badge image below, click 'Save image as' and save it to your computer.

2. When editing the page on your website > click add new image.

3. Select the saved badge from your computer > add it to your page.

4. Click the badge > select to add a link to it.

5. Paste your profile URL link e.g. https://www.entertainersworldwide.com/emily-reed-profile-60095 into the 'Web Address' field.

Note: You can find your Profile URL link on your account dashboard - see screenshot above.

6. Save & Publish the update.

IMPORTANT NOTE: After you've added the badge image and link to your website, you must submit your website page URL here to gain the 10% Profile Quality Score increase!

With this solution, as the badge link has been added to an 'image' and not via our badge code, Wix or any other software won't add it via an iframe. Our crawler and Google crawlers will then be able to see and find the link to your profile and you will get the 10% profile quality score added to your Profile. It will also help to improve the ranking of your Profile and website in Google searches too. Bonus! :-)

FAQs

Why was my badge found previously, but not now?

Up until our recent update, our admins manually reviewed the page on your website to see if the badge was present. If yes, the admin would approve it and your score would be increased. Our recent update to our automated checker now automates the process, but additionally checks to see whether the badge was added correctly to your website. The biggest issue was due to website builder software (most commonly Wix) adding external code via an 'iframe' which our automated checker (crawler) and even Google Crawlers cannot find! This means that although it may look to you and our admins like the badge is added to your website, in reality behind the scenes no link to your profile is found by our crawler or Google crawlers, which means no benefit is given to the ranking of your Profile, your website or our website in Google search results - all very important ways to bring in new gig requests!

Our updated crawler is now able to detect if the badge has been added correctly or not. Our support articles then help you to quickly sort the issue and gain even more ranking benefits than you had before, due to the link being found by Google crawlers and our crawler.

What will happen if I just add the badge code to my Wix website instead of the above solutions?

The badge will still display on your website and even if you click it, it will take you to your Profile! It seems like it's all working correctly, but behind the scenes our crawler and Google crawlers cannot see that link due to it being added within an iframe. You will therefore not gain the 10% to your Profile Quality Score and won't receive any ranking benefit increase in Google searches for your Profile or Website.
